This movie poster is a character poster, since it features the main character, who is also a famous actor. It is advertising Seven Pounds, a drama starring Will Smith that was released in December. A photographic image of the character is used. The designer probably chose a photo because it would have a more mature or serious appearance. The image does not make it seem that the movie is intended for adults only, but it also isn't meant for young children, so it could appeal to teenagers and anyone older. The tagline is a series of phrases in red which are: "seven names" "seven strangers" and "one secret." These taglines are meant to create suspense and curiosity, because people will want to know what's going to happen with the seven people, and what the secret is. This will lure people in to see the movie.
Filter Challenge 1: I used the oil filter and reduced the shine to give it a more matte look. I increased the detail in the brush strokes to make it really seem as though it was painted.
Filter Challenge 2: I used the liquify tool to make it look like the buildings and structures were melting. I enhanced this effect by bloating and inflating the bottom while puckering the top. Filter Challenge 3: I used the pixelate tool to make the image more abstract. I also increased the saturation and contrast of the image to make the colors more vivid. Filter Challenge 4: Using the blur tool, I blurred out the roads in the image to make it seem as though the cars were moving quickly, thus giving the illusion of movement. Filter Challenge 5: Using the lighting effects, I made the image vibrant and more golden. I also increased the saturation and brightness to make it more dramatic. |
